Square Enix dates latest Disney crossover Birth by Sleep; game to launch with silver PSP hardware bundle packed in with 4GB memory stick, UMD movie.Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, the latest adventure in Square Enix’s long line of Disney and Final Fantasy mash-ups, is coming to Europe this September. The game is a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts, taking place ten years before, and features many previously unseen characters and unexplained plot elements from the series.

Casting you as Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, Birth by Sleep takes you way back to before the Kingdom Hearts series ever began, with a prequel to the entire saga. You will of course still explore worlds and interact with characters from famous Disney franchises, including Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.

The game features a handful of famous voice actors including Mark Hamill, Leonard Nimoy, Willa Holland, Jesse McCartney, and James Woods. Star Wars and Star Trek cross-fan-fiction writers: get excited.

The game centers on the journeys of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus, characters briefly featured in Kingdom Hearts II, in their quest to locate the missing Master Xehanort. The game also utilizes an overhauled battle system different from previous games in the series with new elements such as the Command Board, Command System and Dimension Links added in.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will hit PSPs in Europe on September 10th, and in America on September 7th.
