Rumours claimed that the next Xbox might follow Nintendo’s Wii U and offer gamers a touch-screen controller.

As reported by CVG, Microsoft experiments with tabletlike touch-screen controller for the next Xbox.  According to the magazine, the controller is going to sport a form factor same with Sony’s PlayStation Vita and is going to be smaller than the Wii U’s tablet, boasting a 6.2 inch screen.

According to Xbox World Magazine reports that, in addition, to a high-definition screen with touch-screen controls, the controller includes “traditional [Xbox 360] buttons and sticks.”

The magazine did not clearly say that the supposed tablet controller might work with the console, the magazine, but, it implies that it could serve a number of functions. The magazine claimed that the next console can be controlled while watching TV. There is an added a browser when you are on the Internet, extra buttons and information when you are playing a game, or a portable display when you decide to go outside and take the game with you.

Including a tablet controller into the next Xbox gives reason for the manufacturer, to raise the price of the next Xbox.  According to the magazine, the new console could have a price tag over $500.

This rumour is not the first speculation regarding Microsoft integrating a tablet-based controller option for its new console. Gamespot claims they have strong proofs that support the news.
