Tekken 6 is the latest installment of Namco Bandai’s Tekken series. It is the first game to be released on the PlayStation 3 based on the System 357 arcade board. The exact date for PlayStation and Xbox 360 version being release was on October 27, 2009. As for PSP version will be released on November 24, 2009. Katsuhiro Hirada, the game director for Tekken 6 and previous Tekken games said that the stages will be even bigger and more interactivity will be found too, such as wall and floors can be broken to reveal new fighting areas. The character customization feature has also been enhanced.

Besides that, there is a new “rage” system has been added which allows characters to do more damage per hit when their vitality is low. When the “rage” system being activated, a reddish energy aura will appears around the character and of course on their health status bar will start to flicker red. As for the rage aura, it can be customized with different colors and effects to appear like fire, electricity, ice and other element as well.

Another game play feature that been added was the “bound” system.  In this version, every character has several moves that when used on an opponent that is currently midair in a juggle of combo will cause the opponent to be smashed hard into the ground, bouncing them off the floor in a stunned state and leaving them vulnerable to another combo or additional attack.

As for the console versions will have an extra mode entitled of “Scenario Campaign” which bears similarities with the “Tekken Force” and “Devil Within” modes from the previous installments. Unfortunately, this mode is only playable by one player offline but with a future patch will be playable co- operatively online with two players. Back to this extra mode, players can pick up weapons such as poles and Gatling guns. Eventually player will found that the character in this mode can move freely in between the fights, but once when a group of enemies are encountered, the game play will switch back to the traditional Tekken style.

As for the characters part, Tekken 6 has boast the greatest number of characters ever seen in a Tekken game with a total of 42 characters which included virtually all of the characters from Tekken 5. In Tekken 6, eight new characters are being introduced. The first character was Zafina, which is a female who enters the tournament to prevent the clash of the “Two Evil Stars”. The second character is Leo, a German fighter who is intended to be a character which can be played by beginners and experienced players. The third character is Miguel Caballero Rojo, a Spanish matador with a passion for fighting but doesn’t possess real discipline. The fourth character is Bob, an American who was known as martial arts genius. The fifth character is NANCY-MI647J, the bonus character of the game. NANCY is a giant robotic creation which similar to the Jack robots. The sixth character is Azazel, which is the final boss of the game. In the console version, the seventh character is Alisa Boskonovitch, which is a cyborg with jet wings and spinning limbs who may be the cybernetic enhanced daughter of Doctor Boskonovitch. The eighth character is Lars Alexandersson, an unknown descendant of Heihachi Mishima that been assumed as an illegitimate son.
