Tomb RaiderFans of Tomb Raider will not be glad about this news since their favorite heroine is not going to be seen on the Wii U in time for the system’s holiday 2012 launch, if at all. In a FAQ on the game’s official website, According to the Crystal Dynamics global brand director Karl Stewart, there is no plans in porting this year’s Lara Croft reboot to Nintendo’s new console.

Stewart claimed that Tomb Raider would not appear on the Wii U or other Nintendo platforms. He explained that every time they are developing a game, they to a decision that the whole game would be built around one platform. Making sure the game was specific to that platform. Given that we’ve been working on the game quite a while prior to time that Wii U got announced, he think it would not be right to try and port it across. Whenever they started building a game for the Wii U they would build it very differently and build it with unique functionality.

Set for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this fall, Tomb Raider is going to be an all origin story. It is about the story of how Lara Croft came to be the crafty, nimble adventurer at the center of the long-running series.
